Description:

Iron is important in promoting the growth of macro, other calcareous algae and symbiotic algae. Although typically contained in most salt mixes, iron is rapidly depleted in a normal reef system, either through normal biological processes (being used up by the inhabitants) or by being removed through protein skimming. ECO IRON has been specially formulated to replenish and then maintain the iron concentration at a level that will ensure the optimal growth and health of macro- and other calcareous algae in the reef aquarium. It contains no fertilizers, and will thus not cause outbreaks of hair algae or other undesirable organisms.

Directions for use:

Do the following: Add 1 ml per 20 U.S. gallons (80 liters) of actual aquarium water volume per week. In cases where promoting the growth of Caulerpa or other types of macroalgae in the Refugium is the desired goal, ECO IRON may be used at 3 times the recommended dosage per week.
